Most of the hybrid marbles I've seen were a result of changing the colors of a stream that was making the ribbons or corkscrews. On this one it appears they were changing the colors of the base glass. I've only read about these bifurcated marbles in one of the old marble books I have around here somewhere. There is a bit more of the yellow than there is of the green forming two seams with red ribbons running accross the surface of both colors.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT(+) 8.8 The surface is wet and shiny with just a slight trace of microscopic wear. There are a some tiny pinprick sized surface air bubbles, and one impact mark, shown in the center of the fifth picture You may click here to view the grading system I use. | |||||
