The BLUEBERRY is probably the rarest of all the Akro ADE family of marbles. Presenting cobalt blue and lime green patches on a vaseline base glass makes this one a hybrid which is even harder to find. The vaseline base glass, used in all of the ADE marbles contains uranium oxide that causes the marble to "glow in the dark" and almost jumps out of the box when viewed under an Ultra-Violet, UV, light. This particular example is a patch which is the result of the patented Akro spinning mechanism, which creates the famous corkscrew pattern, not turning when the marble was made.
CONDITION: MINT 9.6 Wet, shiny surface with no sign of wear what-so-ever. All I can find are a couple of almost microscopic pinpoints that are clearly as-made and are well documented in these large unenhanced pictures. You may click here to view the grading system I use. | |||||
