Here's a nice larger sized M.F. Christensen hand-gathered amber slag from the early 20th century, one of the very first marbles ever produced in the United States. Made from a single stream of white opaque and transparent amber glass, this one has the distinction of a reverse pattern: The '9' is backward, or left-handed, and there are two, one on either end. So, in addition to the unique twist, this old shooter has escaped any damage for over 100 years. Remarkable for a cheap toy that was made for kids to bang around in their various and sundry games or to use as some of the best ammunition available for their sling-shots. Remarkable!
CONDITION: MINT 9.6 Shiny, wet surface with no sign of wear. There are a couple of specks of sodash just below the surface--best seen in the first and third pictures. You may click here to view the grading system I use. | |||||
