A clear, nearly bubble free, base glass has a tighly woven yellow latticinio core surrounded by four evenly spaced multi-colored ribbons just below the surface; quite a lot of activity for a marble so small.. One pontail mark is unfinished and the other is a melted pig-tail, which helps to estimate the production date to the late Victorian period, circa 1880-1910--nearing the end of the German marble manufactoring era.
At nearly a full 1/32" less than the 1/2" requirement, this one certainly qualifies and a genuine PeeWee. CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is wet and shiny with no signs of wear. A bright light and lens reveal some very tiny needle-point pits that are clearly as-made. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 11.97mm or 0.471" at the equator. | |||||
