Dark forest green, orange, and white with the classic wispy strands corkscrew around a crystal clear base glass that defines one of the most popular collectible the Akro Agate company ever produced. Sometimes sold in boxes labeled "TRI-ONYX", but more commonly in the highly collectible boxes with the image of famous comic strip character "Popeye the Sailor" on the front. From the early 1920s on, almost every color of the Akro palette was used in their production, some more than others; this combination of dark green and especially orange is one of the more rare. Also, there are not many of any description that is available in such a wonderful, untouched, condition as this one.
CONDITION: (+) 9.8 PRISTINE, WET MINT surface with no sign of play, or wear of any kind; nor, is there any anomaly of any kind that I can find, even using a 200w light and 10x lens. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.0mm or 0.625" at the equator. | |||||
