Three each orange and white pinwheel ribbons surround the surface of a crystal clear base glass with a well formed solid blue tear-drop shape at the core. Both pontail marks, which are as clean as the day it was made, are unfinished. This fact along with the exceptionally clear glass and very bright colors are evidence that help to establish a manufacturing date of 1880-1910. These types of marbles have mainly been found in boxed sets of marbles with game boards which were very popular in Great Britain at the time--hence "English, or British style", even though they were made in Germany. These blue solid core swirls are becomming very hard to find.
