This monster with the unique to Akro Agate eggyolk yellow and cobalt blue corkscrew that are followed by white wispy strands around a cloudy milky white base is one of the most popular of the line, i.e., the ACE famile of corkscrews, not to be confused with a Popeye as it is described in one of Block's marble ID books--a Popeye requires a clear base glass. With the lack of the little eyelash-like marks at the poles, I would say the marble was produced after 1922 when the so-called "Freeze" improvement was incorporated in the Akro Agate machines.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 Just like it left the factory with a very shiny wet surface, free from any sign of play or wear. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 22.32mm or 0.878" at the equator. | |||||
