The exceptionally bright and colorful swirls in the center of a crystal clear base glass, as well as, the unfinished pontail marks all help to date this marble to the late Victorian period toward the end of the German marble manufacturing era, circa 1880-1910. As stated, the pontail marks are unfinished, in fact one is just a pinched type crease and the other doesn't even exist.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is pristine, wet mint. There is not the slightest trace of wear to be found. The only anomoly I can find is there is some wrinkled glass, like the marble may have been a bit too hot while it was being finished. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.59mm or 0.653" at the equator. | |||||
