Sorry, but I am no expert on identifying West Virginia made marbles, but having said that, and based on some I've had in the past that were identified by people who did know what they were talking about, I'm pretty sure that this one was made by the Heaton Agate Co. sometime in the 1940s. This little gem most definitely qualifies as a flame with a multitude of reciprocating points between the transparent blue and opaque white swirls--almost from every aspect, as you can see from the six different perspectives shown in the images provided.
NOTE: I previously had this listed as a Heaton Agate product. I have been informed, by sources that know, that this marble was made by the ALLEY AGATE CO. CONDITION: Mint(+) 9.7 The surface has the wet shiny look of a new marble with no signs of play or wear that I can find even with the aid of a very bright light and 10x jewelers loupe. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.02mm or 0.630" at the equator. | |||||
