Encased well below the surface are four colorful rather wide ribbons surrounding a near perfectly executed latticinio web with alternating red and white lines. The size is slightly less that a full 13/16" but considerably more than 25/32". Both pontail marks are unfinished indicating a manufacture date of sometime circa 1880-1910. This is an exceptionally rare marble.
CONDITION: MINT 9.5-9.6 The surface is pristine with a wet shiny surface and no sign of wear at all. The pontail marks are as clean as the day they were made. All I can find are a couple of melted dimples and a small as-made divot that you can see near the center of the fourth picture. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 20.40mm or 0.803" at the equator. | |||||
