Here's one that will accentuate any of several different compilations: Akro Agates, corkscrews, hybrid Popeyes, large shooters, and, really, just about any high-end vintage marble collecion.
Any Popeye larger than 11/16" is fairly rare, and a 3/4" is a really uncommon find; but I've only had two or three Popeyes in all my years of collecting that reached this eye-poping size of 25/32". Add to that, the fact that just below the surface, this one has the addition of a sweet ribbon of pink running alongside the red. These days, as our marble community grows, the demand for good marbles is expanding as well; especially for those approaching the condition of this gorgeous example. CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of any wear or use that I can see even with the aid of a bright light and 10 printer's loupe. There are some tiny pin points that certainly look as-made to me--as much like diminutive air bubbles that have found their way to the surface. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 19.91mm or 0.783" at the equator. | |||||
