With nearly every color available to the glass maker's palatte, this is one of the most colorful Joseph's Coats I've had the pleasure of owning. It's always amazing, to me, how the artist can produce such an intricate piece of work in such small confines.
The unfinished pontail marks indicate a manufacture date of circa 1880-1910, and the exceptionally bright colors show that it was made in Germany for the game board market that was so popular during the late Victorian era--hence reference to"English Style". Strickly speaking, for those of you who are real sticklers about what qualifies as a PeeWee, this one may not meet your standard: Measured from pole to pole there is no question as it measures easily less than 1/2" at 0.493, but at the equator it is a tiny bit over measuring 0.515" CONDITION: MINT 9.3 The surface is wet and shiny looking with no sign of wear, but there is a tiny bubble pop that has been smoothed off. Also, a few specks of dirt in the pontail marks. The apparent anomoly in the third picture is a piece of unmelted sand below the surface. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 12.58mm or "0.493 Pole to Pole and 13.11 or 0.516 at the equator. | |||||
