19/32" Antique English Style DIVIDED CORE in PINK GLASS

Item# GM1720
This is one of the more rare marbles to come out of the German marble industry during the late Victorian period, circa 1880-1910. The time period is charactorized by the multi-color, two sided ribbons at the core, as well as, the two unfinished pontail marks. The term "English Style" refers to the fact that many of these type marbles were intended for the gameboard market that was highly popular in Great Britain during this time.
Although the two sided ribbons were not common with the older marbles, the rarity of this example is the pink tint to the base glass--something seldom seen in any hand-made marble.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT 8.6 The surface is nice and shiny and the pontail marks are exceptionally clean; however there are small pecks and pinpricks all over. Looks much better in hand than in these enlarged pictures.

Size 15.03mm or 0.591" at the equator.
