This was quite surprise when I first picked it up to evaluate it and found that what appeard to be a common black on white PRIZE NAME CORKSCREW, was anythig but common. The black corkscrew is covered in rich Akro Agate OXBLOOD. I can't imagine why they chose to put it on a black surface because it is so hard to see, and even harder to photograph, but here it is. This is one of the more rare examples of oxblood I've had. In all my years of collecting, this is the first I've come across with this much oxblood on it.
CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.0 The surface is bright and shiny and really shows no wear, but a bright light and lens reveals very tiny surface air bubbles and what looks like pinpricks; however, close inspection shows that this is all as-made. Still, there are defects, so I'm going to price the marble as NEAR MINT and make it available to whomever might want it. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.20mm or 0.638" at the equator. | |||||
