Lots and lots of the famous Akro oxblood meander in the company of cobalt blue swirls on a translucent off-white base glass to form what collectors call a BLUE OXBLOOD ACE.
The eyelash-like marks are visible at both poles, first and second pictures, indicating the marble was made before the so called "Freeze" improvement of 1922. At just a hair under 3/4", and an almost unheard of application of oxblood, and the beautiful mint condition, this is a rare and wonderful find indeed. You will assuredly be hard pressed to find a better example. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is wet and shiny without the slightest trace of any wear of any kind. All I can find at all are a couple of microscopic pinpoints with melted edges, and I couldn't see these until looking at these enlarged pictures. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 18.90mm or 0.741" at the equator. | |||||
