The base glass of this old Akro Agate LIMEADE OXBLOOD is a translucent VASELINE green, decorated with opaque sea-green and white swirls and some lines of oxblood. As with all vaseline glass, it glows a bright green color when exposed to Ultra-Violet, "black", lighting.
Also, the so-called "Pre-Freeze" marks are present at the poles which help to date the marble to sometime prior to the spring of 1922 making it one of Akro Agate's earliest endeavors.
CONDITION: MINT 9.6 Wet shiny surface with no sign of play or wear of any kind. All I can find are a couple of microscopic melted dimples, one of which is visible as an apparent sparkle in the third picture and a larger one visible just below center in the same picture. Both are clearly as-made and neither is a sparkle. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 15.97mm or 0.628" at the equator. | |||||
