Here we have a old antique German handmade AMBER CLEARIE with a moderate sprinkling of rather large MICA flakes. There is only one pontail mark and that one is rather pinched, but you can see the break marks where it came off the cane in the sixth picture. The opposite end is flat with no pig-tail marks or anything. Sorry but the fifth picture just didn't pick it up as well as it should have, but you can see from the previous four images that the end is flat and there are some crease marks where it appears to have been mashed while it was in the shaper. I believe it is either the first or the last marble off the END OF CANE.
The measurement at the equator is 0.534", which is just 34/10000" over 1/2". Even though a hair over the half inch requirement, I have listed this as a PEEWEE for some of you collectors who aren't quite so fastidious. It certainly fits in nicely with my PeeWees. Almost forgot! There is a fine, nicely formed ghost core of miniature bubbles that is best seen in the first picture. CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear at all. All I can find wrong with this marble would be the rather heavy crease marks created while the marble was still hot during the shaping process. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 13.50mm or 0.534" at the equator. | |||||
