What a honey! At just about 1/64" shy of a full inch, this is one you hardly ever see--3/4" is considered large for these old German BANDED LUTZ swirls. This one has two very wide opposing lutz, edged in white, bands that are separated by two sets of deep royal blue lines, all running from pole to pole.
When dirt gets into the unfinished pontail marks of these late Victorian marbles, they are nearly impossible to clean. the pontail marks, fifth and sixth pictures, on this marble are as clean as the day they were made, circa 1880-1910. CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.3 The surface is nice and shiny but there is some very light wear; as well as, a subsurface reflection and a tiny pit. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 25.08mm or 0.986" at the equator. | |||||
