Peltier marketed these, what collectors call slags, as NATIONAL ONYX. For me, at least, purple has become the most difficult to locate in my persuit of MINT condition Peltier slags. This one has a deep dark grape hue with a fantastic feathered pattern, peculiar to Peltier, that occupies nearly the entire surface of the marble--marvelous example.
CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of play or wear. There is a single as-made pinprick with a speck of debris in the bottom that did not show up in the pictures. The main anomoly, that I can see, is below the surface and was clearly there when the marble was made. The second and fifth pictures show a small cluster of unmelted sand particals.
