MINT(+) 11/16" Antique German Handmade SINGLE LATTICE RIBBON

Item# GM1811
"SINGLE LATTICE RIBBON": Sounds strange doesn't it. Feels even stranger still to type it, but that's what it is. When you think of a LATTICINIO, you usually envision a web of lattice lines at the core of the marble; this one has a straight line of yellow lattice lines forming a SINGLE LATTICE RIBBON at the core of the crystal clear base glass. There are four multicolored ribbons that run from pole to pole and just below the surface that make a pleasing pinwheel pattern when viewed from either pontail end, pictures 5 and 6. Both of the pontail marks are unfinished, which helps to date the manufacture to the late victorian period, circa 1870-1910.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is wet and shiny with no signs of play or wear. There are some elongated bubbles that are well beneath the surface, as are all of the bubbles. Actually, I can find no anomalies to describe. You can see the spin lines where the artist finished the marble, and the pontail marks, pictures 5 and 6, are as clean as the day they were made.
