This listing is for a MINT 19/32" Antique German Handmade FOUR-RIBBON DIVIDED CORE swirl. The base glass is exceptionally clear with four ribbons at the core. The core consists of two opposing sea-green ribbons separated by red/white, and cobalt-blue, all are translucent. Three sets of lattice ribbons create a second stage surrounding the core near but well beneath the surface. Both pontail marks are unfinished. One is melted and the other ground but not faceted. All this indicates the marble was made sometime during the late Victorian period, circa 1870-1910. The marble is well designed with the core ribbons equally separated and just enough of a twist to create a pleasing pattern.
CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.3 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of play or use of any kind and the pontail marks are as clean as the day they were made. Close inspection shows a fair number of melted dimples and pinpoints as well as a cold roll line encircling one end. Also, the marble is not quite round as you can see in the first four images.
