This is a huge old German handmade forest green clearie with a heavy load of medium sized mica flakes all around the marble just below the surface. The pontail marks are immaculate. One is a receded melted pig-tail and the other was exquisitely ground to round out the marble. You seldom find one of these old handmade monsters in such well preserved condition.
CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.3 The surface is wet and shiny, but there is just the slightest sign of wear, maybe from rubbing other marbles in a box or jar for over 150 years. There is what looks like a chip that you can see just to the left of center in the fourth picture if you look hard, sort of looks like a deer track. Close inspection proves it to be as-made, probably from where a piece of mica near the surface popped out while it was still hot--I've seen it before.
