The base glass on this marble is a clear as spring water. There are two elongated bubbles at the core. On the suface are two opposing sets of two red bands running from pole to pole and separated by two wide lutz ribbons edged in white. The exceptionally clear glass and bright colors along with the two unfinished pontail marks are evidence the marble was made sometime during the late Victorian era, circa 1870-1910.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.8 PRISTINE, WET MINT. This is as good as it gets in a handmade marble. You can even see the spin marks from the shaping process and the pontail marks are as clean as the day they were made. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.67mm or 0.657" at the equator. | |||||
