What a unique marble. I know I've never seen one quite like it in my 25+ years of playing marbles. As you can see from the first two pictures, over half the marble is covered with the rich Akro OXBLOOD, and the silvery, cloudy white base glass gives us a SILVER OXBLOOD. But, as I turn the marble by quarter turns, we see sparkler-like veins of white, oxblood, and even some blue. I've been told that when certain Akro Agate machine parts were spinning, you get a corkscrew; otherwise, you get a patch. This one was cerainly not spinning, so I guess it qualifies as a patch, but unlike any I've ever seen, other than sparklers
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 Wet shiny surface, with no signs of wear at all. Under magnification I can see one surface reflection with accompanying quarter-moon that shows up when you hold the marble just right, then disappears. Also, there are some tiny melted dimples that are evidenced by the pictures. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.28mm or 0.641" or to be accurate 41/64" at the equator. | |||||
