I don't think there is anyone who collects marbles who doesn't recognize this one: The Akro Agate POPEYE CORKSCREW. The base glass is crystal clear and nearly filled with opaque white wispy threads, and on the surface are side by side blue and yellow corks that wind around for about a turn and a half. This is a really nice marble at a really popular and hard to find 11/16" size.
CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.3 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear. There are a couple of pinprick looking marks, but close inspection shows them to have melted edges, so as-mades. There are also several sub-surface reflections, sparkles, that appear and disappear as you rotate them under a light. I can't tell for sure whether they're as-mades or not. I'm afraid you'll just have to judge by the pictures on this one--they are tiny. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 17.32mm or 0.682" at the equator. | |||||
