The base glass is the ultra-rare opaque dark red and has four black ribbons meeting at two rather uneven opposing seams. I have never been very good at capturing aventurine in my pictures but the ribbons have a liberal application of the fine aventurine particals that are rather singular to Peltier marbles. This variety of NLR dates back to some of Peltier's earliest examples, circa 1920s through the '40s.
CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear at all. There are; however, several needle-point sized melted dimples scattered here and there around the surface, some are too small to even call dimples really and one has a speck of white debris in the bottom. All are quite clearly as-made. The marble is in exactly the same condition that it left the factory. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 15.80mm or 0.622" at the equator. | |||||
