Most of the marbles we collect are rare and hard to find--that's partly why we collect them. I try not to stretch the point because we all know it; but, having said that, I have to say that this one is exceedingly rare, or hard to find, or however you want to put it. I just know that I haven't seen one in quite a while: this is a German handmade CARAMEL SWIRL--A dark amber base glass with white? sub-surface bands running from pontail mark to pontail mark. Similar to a Cornhusk, another very rare marble, but instead of one band, there are several and they cover a full 360°.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT 8.5 While there are actually no mint views, the marble is whole with no missing glass, bruises, or a lot of wear. All I can really find are pinpricks and flea-bites here and there pretty well all over. The pictures are quite accurate, but being so much enlarged, I have to say: this is one of those that look a whole lot better in hand and on display.
