This is an excellent example of the 19th century glass marble artists. To me, it is, and has always been, amazing that this much detail can be accomplished on and in such a small area. An orb of less than a half inch contains four equally spaced ribbons of unusual colors, lavender and apple green, in a clear base with ultra-thin double lattice lines mirroring the pattern of the ribbons just below the surface.
The unfinished pontail marks reveal that the marble was made sometime during the late Victorian era, circa 1880-1910. These were usually made for the English gameboard market that was highly popular in Britain at this time. CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is wet and as shiny as the day it was made. There is a, clearly as-made, track of debris of some sort that is easily seen at the upper center of the second picture and toward the left edge of the third and fifth.
