Wow!! This little cutey is a sparkling piece of eye-candy no matter where in any display it is placed. Colors include: three varieties of red, a couple of greens, orange, yellow, lavender, and white--it would place a strain on the artist's pallate to add any more, especially in such a small space, 0.498" from pole to pole and 0.507" at the equator; so, we have just a little under regulation PeeWee size in one direction, and just a little over in the other. I know it fit's in my PeeWee board just perfectly with the rest of them.
With the exceptionally brilliant colors, the crystal clear base glass, and the two unfinished pontail marks, this little beauty shows evidence of manufacture circa 1880-1910. These were sometimes referred to as ENGLISH STYLE mainly because they were made primarily for the game board market that was highly popular in Great Britain at the time. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface has the wet shiny look of a brand new marble, in itself amazing since the marble is well over 100 years old. I can find no signs of play or wear of any kind. Even the pontail marks, fifth and sixth pictures, are as pristine as the day they were made. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 12.89mm or 0.507" at the equator. | |||||
