At slightly over one and a quarter inches, this is the largest, one of these old MFC slags I've ever had. This is also one of the oldest marbles made in the United States; it dates back to the turn of the 20th century when marbles were still being hand gathered from a single stream of molten glass and spun by hand into the pattern we see now in the finished product. Truly amazing to find one of these old toe-breakers still in this wonderful condition.
CONDITION: I'm not really sure how to grade this one. I don't really see anything that wasn't there when the marble was made, but somehow it just doesn't quite have the MINT look requisite for that grade; so, I guess I'll have to go with NEAR MINT(++). The pictures are quite accurate. Enough so that you should be able to see for yourself what you're getting into, especially if you click the first picture for a super-enlarged view. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 32.15mm or 1.265" at the equator. | |||||
