The pea green base glass with orange and red ribbons tells us that this is a Peltier NLR FLAMING DRAGON. The absence of any seams further infers that it was made on Peltier's earliest and highly controversial MILLER machine--named for it's designer. On these machines, Peltier mostly produced marbles with a transparent colored base glass; however there were a few with the opaque base glass made, of which this is one. The majority of the opaque base glass marbles were white with a few exceptions of blue and green; again, this is one. Also, most of the marbles produced at this time were in the 5/8" to 11/16" size range, with a few 3/4" shooters, this behemoth is well over 13/16" and in beautiful MINT condition. What more could you ask?
CONDITION: MINT 9.4 The surface is wet and shiny and I am finding no sign of wear. Close examination with a bright light and lens, shows some minor wrinkling and a few melted dimples. Also, you can see a tiny open air bubble with a speck of debris in the bottom, first picture just southwest of center. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 20.95mm or 0.825" at the equator. | |||||
