Although this little gem is just a hair over the requisite 1/2" limit set by someone as a true peewee, I have listed it as such because that is where I have it displayed--with the rest of my peewees and it looks just fine there.
The clear base glass is covered with a layer of white on which ride green threads running unbroken from pole to pole. There is one thin line of blue visible in the first and fourth pictures. Very well designed marble with unfinished pontail marks that show very clean breaks from the pontail rod. I would estimate the manufacture dates to be during the late Victorian period, circa 1870-1910. These were made in Germany, probably for the British gameboard market that was quite popular at the time. CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.3 The surface is bright and shiny with no sign of play or wear; there is however, a tiny open air bubble with a speck of debris in it that is visible in the fourth and fifth pictures. The pontail marks are clean, as a mint marble should be. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 13.20mm or 0.524" at the equator. | |||||
