Occasionally you may come accross these Peltier NLR shooters, but nearly every one of them is beat all to pieces. Peltier didn't make very many of the NLR in the 3/4+" size, and they were so pretty and heavy that they became the favorites for young lads to use as shooters; so, with a low production rate and a high usage rate, a Peltier shooter is a rare find. But when you do find one in the marvelous condition this one shows, as well as it's giant 13/16" size, you are way ahead of the game of filling your Peltier shooter box.
A trait of Peltier marbles is: when they approach 3/4" and up, the pattern usually becomes weak and the colors are all there is to identify them as to what they are. This monster has retained a pattern that is at least equal to the smaller sizes, and better than many. Simply a great marble. CONDITION: I'm having a hard time grading this one. If you will click on the first picture, a much larger view will appear that will help you to be able to see what I'm talking about. There is some microscopic pitting going on, that looks like there might have been some ash or something in the air that dirtied the rollers. There are a couple of places that look sort of like scratches but close inspection with a bright light and lens, show them to be melted roller marks. Also, there are some tiny, tiny dimples that are clearly as-made, and a few that may or may not be as-made. So, although everything appears to be as-made factory anomalies, I'm going to have to go with NEAR MINT(+) to MINT(-). The surface is still bright and shiny, and all this I've recorded is only seen with some visual aid such as these enlarging pictures or a bright light and lens. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 20.64mm or 0.812" at the equator. | |||||
