Here's a really busy old German Handmade CORELESS Swirl PEEWEE, with a very nice spin of at least a full turn and a half. The base glass is a pale green with ribbons and streaks of translucent greens and yellows. Both pontail marks are unfinished indicating the marble was made sometime during the late Victorian period, circa 1870-1910.
CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.3 The surface is shiny with just the slightest whisper of microscopic wear, a few as-made needle points, and some melted surface air bubbles. Also, there are some tiny black specks beneath the surface and in one of the needle points. The pontail marks contain no dirt what-so-ever--as clean at the day they were made. Try to remember how small this marble is and how greatly enlarged these pictures are. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 12.00mm or 0.472" at the equator. | |||||
