These are some of my favorite marbles: The antique German handmade JOSEPH's COATs. This one in particular because of the variety of brilliant colors used in these ENGLISH STYLE examples. The base glass is crystal clear and right beneath the surface are pole to pole bands of bright red, yellow, white, green, orange, and super-rare black. The pontail marks are as clean as the day they were made, as well as, so well made, they didn't require any finishing, i.e., polishing or grinding. All of this description verifies that this marble was produced during the late Victorian period, circa 1880-1910.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.8 The surface has the wet shiny look of a brand new marble. I can find no as-mades of actual flaws of any kind. Museum quality. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 21.37mm or 0.841" at the equator. | |||||
