Four bright red and two yellow ribbons meet at two opposing seams on a robin's-egg blue base glass to form what collectors have called for decades: a Peltier NLR SUPERMAN from the 1920-s through the early '40s. This is one of the most widely sought after and defining elements of a Peltier, or any, high-end marble collection.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT(++) 8.9 I guess, technically, the condition could be rated as mint minus, but there is microscopic pitting, pinpoints, and wear, almost all as-made; never-the-less, it is there and the marble, depending on how tough you grade, just doesn't quite measure up to a mint rating. The pictures are quite accurate and, as you can see, even with these enlarged pictures there isn't much showing up. All this is not to say, that this would not make an excellent example to include in your collection. I've seen many marbles offered for sale that were not near as nice with a much higher rating. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 15.89mm or 0.625" at the equator. | |||||
