Coppey-orange, blue, brown, tan, and green meeting at two seams on a creamy white base glass make up what collectors, what few who have even seen one at any rate, are calling a Peltier Glass Company NLR COPPERHEAD. I've had several Blue Galaxies and Golden Rebels, and even a Gheko, over the years but this is the very first of these I have ever even seen much less owned, so I know first hand how rare and hard to obtain they are. Gorgeous marble that further illustrates the almost unlimited pallete of the Peltier Glass Company. I'd say this is one of the earlier examples of Peltier's works, circa 1920s.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear at all. There are a few melted dimples from near-surface air bubbles that have collapsed inward and sealed over rather than the outward explosion that is so prevalent with Peltier marbles. Truly a remarkable piece. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 17.30mm or 0.681" at the equator. | |||||
