Usually a DIVIDED CORE swirl are just three or four ribbons running from pontail mark to pontail mark, and more or less in line with each other. With this one, the ribbons are 60°-90° in relation to each other, which creates ridges--best seen in the last two pictures. Another rare feature of this marble is that there are no outer bands, ribbons, or lattice lines, i.e. NAKED. Any of these NAKED varieties of handmade marbles are considered rare, or at least very hard to find. Many may argue which is the rarest, ribbon, divided, or solid core naked swirls, but I believe the DIVIDED core is a bit harder to find than most. Especially in this wonderful MINT(+) condition.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.8 anyway. Pristine. Wet Mint. When it comes to Handmade marbles, this is just as good as it gets. Even the pontail marks are as deliciously clean as the day they were made. Certainly a MUSEUM QUALITY marble. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 17.70mm or 0.696" at the equator. | |||||
