I'm not sure if this is what collectors mean when they use the term "Burned" CHRISTMAS TREE, but the green is a transparent very dark sort of olive shade and in some cases the somewhat dark transparent red not only is used to trim the outer edges of the green, it even over-shadows it. Whatever it is called, the contrast of the colors on the opaque snow white base makes for an outstanding example of the ever popular Peltier NLR CHRISTMAS TREE.
The slightly horseshoe shaped seam shown in the first picture is classic with equally sized and spaced ribbons. The opposite seam, on the other hand, is rather a swirling mess--check the second image. From the design and the way the transparent green of this shade is mostly trimmed in transparent red, I'd say this is one of the earlier examples of a NATIONAL LINE RAINBO from the 1920s. CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface has the wet shiny look of a brand new marble, with no sign of wear at all. All I can find with the aid of a bright light and lens are mainly subsurface air bubbles, some of which have made it to the surface and collapsed inward leaving little dimples with melted edges. None of them have popped outward as is so often the case with Peltier marbles. This is a great example that will take pride of place in almost any high-end marble collection.
