The size is actually less than 1/128" shy of a full one inch, but there you have it. I've heard about these, but I've never actually seen one. From my own research, I have found that the marble only comes in the 1" size. They are a clear based marble, usually nearly filled with opaque white and pink-ish and blue ribbons running from seam to seam covering about 1/3 of the marbles surface. This one only has a sub-surface white ribbon a bit of blue and rusty red ribbons. They are exceptionally rare and usually show fractures.
CONDITION: GOOD(+) 7.9 - NEAR MINT(-) 8.2 The surface still has a nice shine to it and appears to be in nice condition, in hand; but, close inspection with a bright light and lens, shows nearly complete coverage of light what may be called "pocket wear". There are no pinpricks or impact marks, and this example shows no evidence of the usual fracturing. The primary reason for the low rating is that there is no MINT view, so the grade can hardly be called near mint; however, many would probably grant a high near mint. As subjective as grading has become, I'll let you decide. The pictures show quite well what you'll be getting. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 25.23mm or 0.993" at the equator. | |||||
