Here's one of the most famous, or maybe infamous, marbles that the Champion Agate Co. ever produced. The story I heard was: Employees, or maybe ex-employees, snuck into the factory at night and made a run of their own using the broken fragments of glass from previous runs. How much of the story is true, I have no idea; but it's a fun and interesting fable to contemplate.
This one has red, yellow, cream, and clear swirled together in a wild pattern that collectors have dubbed the FURNACE SWIRL. Which in itself is a bit misleading, because they are all furnace swirls. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 PRISTINE. There is absolutely no sign of play or wear of any kind on the wet shiny surface. There is one tiny melted flea-bite shown near the center of the third picture. Most of these I've had my hands on over the years have had issues with cracks and hairlines and even large flakes broken off at annealing faults--this little beauty has none what-so-ever.
