I have seen a whole lot more of the opaque black, and even the maglite INDIANs, that I have these CLEAR BASED, and even fewer of these EOD types with the almost full 360° coverage. The unfinished pontail marks on either end give us a clue to a manufacture date of sometime in the late Victorian era, circa 1870-1910.
CONDITION: MINT 9.7 or better. With the brushed on type finish of these type marbles it's sometimes hard to judge what is an anomaly and what is it's nature. In any event, I can find nothing wrong with this marble at all--even the pontail marks are as clean as the day they were made. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 17.59mm or 0.692" at the equator. | |||||
