The base glass is crystal clear, and at first glance, it appears that there is nearly 100% coverage of the GUINEA spots and streaks, but actually only one side runs from seam to seam with full coverage, between the seams going the other direction is a rather wide window that allows you to see down inside the marble where there is nearly as much activity as there is on the surface--all of the requirements of a CAC COBRA or CYCLONE as some choose to call it. I've seen a few over the years that had a small amount of color on the inside, but if the outer surface were somehow scraped off of this one, there would still be an intricate design of the CAC palatte happening on the interior.
This is, for most collectors, a once in a lifetime find; luckily, this is my second. The other one I had was only a couple of months ago and it SOLD within 24 hours of my listing it. I don't expect this one to sell as fast, but this has to be one of the most sought after marbles in the collecting world. CONDITION: MINT 9.4 The surface is wet and shiny, and I can find no signs of play or wear, but with the aid of a bright light and lens, I can see some very tiny, almost microscopic, needle point depressions with melted edges, some of which have a dark looking debris in the bottom. These are clearly as made--with the melted edges, it is easy to see they were introduced during the manufacturing process. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 15.81mm or 0.622" at the equator. | |||||
