Here is an unusual and rare example of a HYBRIDIZED crossing of a LATTICINIO and DIVIDED CORE: There are three sets of alternating orange/white lattice lines consisting of 5 lines each that essentially form three lattice ribbons that are separated in the manner of a divided ribbon core. The area inside of this is open. On and just below the surface are three wide orange, green, and cobalt ribbons.
Both pontail marks are unfinished--not faceted, indicating the marble was made sometime in the later period of German handmades, circa 1870-1910. CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface is wet and shiny and even the spin marks can be seen. There are a couple of melted dimples here and there but there are so many bubbles of varying sizes just beneath the surface that it's impossible to see them without a light and lens; even the pictures don't distinguish from the melted dimples and the sub-surface bubbles. The pontail marks, fifth and sixth pictures, are as clean as the day they were made. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 22.72mm or 0.894" at the equator. | |||||
