After 25 years of running this web-site, this is the first one of these I've come across: The base glass is a dark ruby red with a myriad of medium to very large bubbles. There is a wide eggyolk brush patch that runs from seam to seam. I'm not sure if you would call this an Akro Agate ROYAL patch or not, but it is certainly unique and one I'm sure that few of you patch collectors have. A real eye catcher, in gorgeous mint condition.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear that I can find. There appears to be a sub-surface reflection, but a closer examination with a lense shows it to be coming off the edge of a bubble. The slight crease shown in the sixth picture, at first resembles a cold roll mark, but in fact it is the seam that extends from the yellow into the red--what at first looks like the seam is where the yellow has dived slightly below the surface. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.85mm or 0.664" at the equator. | |||||
