Monster of a toe-breaker here and an exceptionally rare one to boot: An almost unheard of alternating Yellow and white latticinio swirl of this enormous, over 2", size. Any marble of this size has become a treasure to collectors everywhere, and have become almost impossible to find, or afford when you do. The only reason I was able to procure this one was that someone wasn't watching when the auction ended. I have bid on many and the closest I ever came ended with the auction well over $400, and it was a wreck. This one, thanks to a very light buffing has a nice clear view to the interior showing a well designed example of the artists skill. There are four rather unusual outer bands, all translucent and multi-colored.
CONDITION: Very LIGHTLY BUFFED: The pontail marks are still showing, fifth and sixth, pictures, and it looks like there was only the wear and such that dulls a marble were removed. There is some residual damage showing, but there is not a lot and all of it is shown in the images that show the views of quarter-turn rotations. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 51.94mm or 2.044" at the equator. | |||||
