This is a Peltier Comic Picture Marble; once, all the rage in the 1920s general stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, or anywhere they sold marbles. The image of SMITTY, a syndicated comic strip of the 1920s, is seen here screened onto an aventurine black on white Peltier Peerless patch. SMITTY is usually found on the Mustard yellow with a green patch PPP, making this a rather an unusual, if not unique, example of the series.
CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of play or wear. The pictures show some very minor shallow as-mades here and there mainly in the black caused by excess graphite splatter; although this marble has less of that problem than most.
