RARE! RARE! RARE! I've been trying to get my hands on one of these for quite a long time. I've only seen a couple over the years, and those were unavailable to me. This is an Antique German Handmade BANDED LUTZ in TRANSPARENT GREEN GLASS. The base glass is a coreless deep forest green with opposing surface bands of sparkling lutz, edged with white, alternating with double yellow ribbons; All running from pole to pole with a nice twist. The design is near perfect with equal spacing, a tiny melted pigtail pontail mark on one end and an exquisitly unfinished break at the other. All of this helps to assess the manufacture date to the turn of the 20th century, circa 1880-1910. And if that isn't enough to get your mouth watering about this delicious piece of eye-candy, consider the highly desireable 25/32" SHOOTER size, and to top it all off: the wonderful wet mint condition.
CONDITION: WET MINT 9.8 Immaculate. I can find no anomalies, including any signs of play or wear of any kind, to mar the remarkably wet shiny surface. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 19.63mm or 0.772" at the equator. | |||||
