This is an amazing marble from Akro Agate to begin with an understatement. I've only had two or three 3/4" RED and BLUE POPEYEs in all the years I've been collecting, and 49/64" is very large for any Popeye. Apart from size, there is also a quite heavy addition, or I should probably say left-over, ribbon of orange tinted yellow making this a true hybrid and extremely rare in this combination of which includes a bright fire-engine red, the orange tinted yellow just mentioned, and deep cobalt that fades to a dark, almost black, indigo. Now with all of that to set any collector drooling, is the near perfect WET MINT condition which is very hard to find in any marble of any size.
CONDITION: WET MINT No less than 9.8 at the very least. You will look long in your marble collecting days to find any marble in as good condition as this one, far longer for one better. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 19.43mm or 0.765" at the equator. | |||||
