MINT 1-7/64" Antique German Handmade: DOUBLE RIBBON CORE Swirl

Item# GM2291
Of the class of old German handmade marbles classified as DIVIDED COREs, the three and four ribbon type are the most common and the DOUBLE RIBBON the rarest. There are also five and six ribbons, and they are seldom seen also. This excellent example has multiple colors on both sides of two wide ribbons with mirrored lattice lines outside and just below the surface. The brilliant colors and the large, 1-7/64", example is exceptionally hard to find and especially in this wonderful MINT condition. One of the pontail marks is ground and the other is a melted, to near oblivion, pigtail.
CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of play or wear at all. I can only find, with the help of a bright light and lens, a single faint, thinly outlined circle that the pictures failed to pick up, and doesn't show up on display either. Everything else you see in the pictures are air bubbles down beneath the surface.

Size 28.00mm or 1.104" at the equator.
